Were you pleased with the progress of your team following your games in Cancun?
Yes, I believe we were able to learn from our early season games as we continue to face tougher competition. We are able to have a highlighted aspect of our team each night. As the different areas continue to improve together we can be a much tougher team to play late in the season.
What individual players stood out in the past couple of games?
It is important for different players to step up every night with such a young team this season. I was pleased with many of the players' efforts highlighted by Ron Giplaye's defense and rebounding, Duke Mondy's clutch three point shooting versus Wyoming and Vincent Council's ability to close out of the game with an impressive 16-16 from the free throw line.
What are the benefits of playing in an event such as the Cancun Challenge?
Events such as the Cancun Challenge are listed as "exempt" tournaments. By participating in such an event, you can play in more games during the non-conference season (nothing improves your team and players better than game experience). We will continue to play in events similar to the Cancun Challenge and hopefully with continued success. All the Best, Coach Keno Davis
