PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by Dartmouth, 3-0, on Tuesday, September 15 in Providence. With the loss, the Friars fell to 4-9, while the Big Green improved to 3-4.
The Big Green took the opening, 25-13, and then prevailed in the next two sets by scores of 25-9 and 25-19. Sophomore middle blocker Lauren Fletcher (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Friars with six kills, while classmate Carly Morrison (Larkspur, Calif.) recorded a team-high 14 assists. Morrison also added five digs for PC. Cassie Muzzonigro (Gibsonia, Pa.) finished with a team-high eight digs. Madeline Baird led Dartmouth with a match-high 14 kills, while Kendall Houston finished with a team-best 28 assists.
The Friars are back in action on Friday, September 18 when they play Hampton and Wofford at the South Carolina State Spikefest in Orangeburg, S.C.
