Providence Tennis Defeats Intra-State Rival Bryant

The Providence College tennis team (2-2) faced off against intra-state rival Bryant University on Saturday, February 21 at the Rally Point Racquet Club in Greenville, R.I. The Friars secured their second victory of the spring season, taking a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Ayushi Sinha (Mumbai, India) led the way for PC, earning a win the No. 2 singles position before teaming up with senior Meghan Gilroy (Fairfield, Conn.) to take the No. 1 doubles win. Sinha came from behind in singles to defeat Bryant's Katharine Francazio, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8. Sinha and Gilroy defeated Morganne Downing and Katharine Francazio, 8-5.
The Friars return to action on Sunday, March 22 when they travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on Syracuse at 9:00 a.m.
