The Providence College swimming & diving teams hosted Holy Cross on Saturday, January 31 in Providence, R.I. The Friar men put on a show for senior day, earning first-place finishes in 13 out of 16 events on the day, en route to a 194-106 win. On the women's side, PC fell, 176-124.

The Friar men were led by juniors Tim Reilly (Floral Park, N.Y.) and Mathew Card (Bow, N.H.), who each earned two individual wins. Reilly earned victories in the 800-meter freestyle (9:16.37) and the 200-meter backstroke (2:20.73). Card took the 100-meter freestyle (54.97) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:01.01), and also was a member of the 400-meter freestyle relay team which took first with a time of 3:42.62.

The PC women were led by senior Blair Flynn (Middletown, R.I.). Flynn earned a first-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:02.34, and then joined classmate Lauren Sepe (Warwick, R.I.), junior Carrie Lamb (New Paltz, N.Y.), and freshman Caroline Caliri (Marblehead, Mass.) to win the 400-meter freestyle relay in a time of 4:13.80. Lamb also earned an individual win on the day, taking the 400-meter freestyle in a time of 4:40.81.

The Friars return to action on Saturday, February 7 when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. for the New England Invitational. Events are set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
