The Providence College women's tennis squad fell 5-8 on the season as they were swept by Big East Conference foe Marquette, 7-0, on Sunday, March 30. The match was held at an indoor neutral court at the East Hartford Racquet Club in East Hartford, Conn. According to Head Coach Wayne Turner, "This match was extremely competitive, but Marquette was too strong and raised the level of the game at critical points. The Friars took many good things from this match, going forward for the remainder of the season."
The Friars return to the courts on Wednesday, April 2 when they travel to Storrs, Conn. to take on another conference rival, the University of Connecticut. The match is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
