The Providence College volleyball team lost to Central Connecticut State, 3-0, on Tuesday, October 14 in Mullaney Gymnasium. The Blue Devils won the match with game scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-17. With the defeat, PC drops to 11-11 while Central Connecticut moves to 5-11.
Senior Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) paced the Friars with a solid all-around game. The co-captain registered six kills, nine assists, seven digs and a service ace. Sheehan also posted a .455 hitting percentage for the match. Senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Friar offense with nine kills and added two blocks. Defensively, senior Kelly Krahebuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) recorded 12 digs. The 5-7 defensive specialist now has 283 digs on the year.
Providence's next match is Friday, October 17. The Friars will travel to Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., to take on St. Francis at 7:00 p.m.
