Tennis Falls To New Hampshire, 4-3

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Friday, April 21, the Providence College tennis was defeated, 4-3, by New Hampshire. PC was led by freshman Meghan Gilroy (Fairfield Conn.) and junior Kerry Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.), who paired up for their third-consecutive doubles victory before going on to win their respective singles matches.
Providence claimed the doubles point with senior Sara Bitetti (Norwell, Mass.) and freshman Ashley Rissolo (Southport, Conn.) defeating Lensey Howard and Lauren Howard at No. 1 (8-2) while Schulz and Gilroy picked up an 8-3 win over Sarah Wohlfarth and Sarah Rice at No. 3.
The Friars went on to win two singles matches, with Gilroy posting a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Rice at No. 5 and Schulz defeating Wohlfarth (6-0, 6-1) at No. 6.
PC (6-13) returns to action on Sunday, April 23, when it hosts Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. The match will be played at Center Court in East Providence, R.I..
