EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Sunday, April 23, the Providence College tennis team picked up its seventh win of the year with a 7-0 blanking of Holy Cross. The Friars swept the Crusaders in singles matches and went on to win two-of-three doubles contests.

In doubles, senior Sara Bitetti (Norwell, Mass) and freshman Ashley Rissolo (Southport, Conn.) teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 1, while junior Kerry Schulz (Fairfield Conn.) and Meghan Gilroy (Fairfield, Conn.) picked up a win (by default) at No. 3.

The Friars went on to sweep the singles matches with Bitetti, sophomore Erin Kenaga (Norwalk, Conn.), sophomore Kate Lyons (Barrington, R.I.), Schulz, junior Therese Griffin (Louisville, Ky.) and senior Marissa Bigelli (Lincoln, R.I.) posting victories at No. 1-6, respectively.

The Friars (7-13) return to action on Tuesday, April 25, when they close out their season with a 3:00 p.m. match at Hartford.
