Providence Tennis Loses To Rhode Island, 6-1

KINGSTON, R.I. - On Tuesday, April 18, the Providence College tennis team traveled to Kingston, R.I. where they were defeated by the Rhode Island Rams. PC's Kate Lyons (Barrington, R.I.) posted the third victory in her last four matches while junior Kerry Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.) and freshman Meghan Gilroy (Fairfield, Conn.) paired up for their second-consecutive doubles win.
Schulz and Gilroy posted PC's only doubles victory with an 8-1 besting of Emily Conant and Haley Loewenthal at the No. 3 position. The Friars' lone singles point came from Lyons, playing at No. 4, who recorded a 6-4, 2-6, 11-9 victory over Rhode Island's Jess Sims.
The PC tennis team (6-12) will return to action on Friday, April 18, with a 3:00 p.m. match against New Hampshire.
