Providence Tennis Splits a Pair of Road Matches

The Providence College tennis team split a pair of road matches this weekend, in Albany, N.Y. on Saturday, February 11. The Friars defeated Saint Bonaventure, 4-3, before losing to Albany, 5-1.

In singles action against the Bonnies, junior Jen Daigle (East Greenbush, N.Y.) defeated Anna Perevezentseva at the No. 1 position, 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5). Senior Sara Bitetti (Norwood, Mass.) also picked up a win at No. 2, with a 6-3, 7-6, (7-5) victory over Stephanie Fosnight. At the third and fourth spots, junior Andrea Lee (Cumberland, R.I.) and freshman Ashley Rissolo (Southport, Conn.) each picked up straight set wins to round out the PC victory.

Against Albany, there was no doubles play, and the lone Providence win came at the No. 1 spot with Daigle posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Courtney Michels.

The Friars (3-3) return to action Saturday, February 18, when they travel to marist for a 6:00 p.m. match.
