GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -Al Horford scored a career-high 21 points, Joakim Noah added 17 and No. 7 Florida rebounded from its second loss of the season with an 85-67 victory over Providence on Wednesday night.

Horford was 8-of-13 from the field and had 13 rebounds and three assists. Noah was 6-of-7 from the field with six rebounds, five steals and four assists.

The Gators (8-2), playing their third consecutive game without forward Corey Brewer (mononucleosis), bounced back from a loss at Florida State on Sunday and improved to 7-0 at home this season.

The latest victory left coach Billy Donovan one shy of tying Norm Sloan (235) for the most in school history. Donovan can tie Sloan on Dec. 17, against Florida A&M in Tampa.

Florida plans to use the extended break to get healthy, hoping Brewer will return against No. 5 Ohio State on Dec. 23.

Noah has been slowed by a respiratory infection, but he showed little effects against the Friars (6-2). He scored seven of Florida's first nine points.

Weyinmi Efejuku led the Friars with 22 points, while Geoff McDermott added 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Sharaud Curry's 25-footer in the final seconds of the first half brought the Friars within 40-34, but Florida pulled away with a 17-3 run early in the second half - thanks mostly to Horford.

Horford scored nine points in the first 10 minutes of the second half, taking advantage of Florida's size to dominate inside.

The Gators led 67-45, but Providence scored the next 12 points. Florida then pulled away for good by getting out on the break and creating easy baskets.

Six Florida players finished in double figures, including all five starters. Lee Humphrey had 12 points, followed by Chris Richard (11), Taurean Green (10) and Walter Hodge (10).

The Gators completed a three-game sweep against Donovan's alma mater, winning each of the last three years against the school he led to the Final Four in 1987.
