It's hard to believe that I am already in college. It seems like just yesterday I was out in the driveway with my sisters and brother playing pick-up and HORSE. Because all of my siblings played college basketball, I grew up listening to their stories about the insane practices and the intensity of high-level collegiate programs, therefore I felt pretty prepared coming into Providence College because, compared to the other newcomers, I sort of knew what I was getting myself into.
Choosing a college was the hardest decision I've had to make in my life thus far. I chose a college so close to home because I didn't want to deal with the homesickness that I knew would have come if I had gone any further away.
Also, I know that I wouldn't be able to deal with not having my family and friends to support me on the sidelines at my games. I can't imagine what it's like for some of my teammates and their families who come from Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, or even Poland!
I've never been on a team before that consisted of so many different personalities. Each person is unique and it was hard to grow accustomed to at first, but now we've grown so close that every amount of time we spend together is so much fun. Each girl contributes so much to the team and together we have the potential to make a lot of noise this year on the basketball court.
I'm so excited for the games. I know that when I suit up in my Providence College #33 jersey and head out to warm-up for my first game, it'll be a night that I'll never forget. It won't be long until I'm a senior so I'm determined to try my hardest and make the best out of these next four years.
Watch out BIG EAST, the Friars are on their way to the top!
