HAMDEN, Conn. - The Providence College volleyball team (5-22) shutout Quinnipiac University (5-15) by the score of 3-0, in action at Burt Kahn Court on Wednesday evening. The Friars won by game scores of 30-26, 31-29 and 30-26. Providence senior captain Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) posted her fourth consecutive double-double with a team-high 29 assists and 11 kills. The feat also was her 15th double-double of the year.

Freshmen Aida Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Amanda Little (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) each turned in impressive numbers as well. Cadres tallied 13 kills, one shy of her career-high, while Little added a match-best 25 digs. Little is ranked 23rd nationally averaging 5.33 digs per game, now has a season total to 526 digs, the second-highest overall total in the nation.

For the match, PC posted an attack percentage of .173, including a startling .308 clip in the first game.

With the win the Friars also tied their win total from last season, with an additional eight matches remaining on the schedule. One more victory would mark PC's highest total since the 2001 campaign when the Friars also posted six.

Providence volleyball is off for nine days, and returns to action on Friday, November 4. The Friars will travel to North Carolina for the Gardner-Webb Tournament in Boiling Springs, N.C. PC will take on North Carolina A&T in their first match at 6:00 p.m.
