PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's cross country team is ranked 14th in the first Mondo Division I Men's Cross Country National Poll, which was released Tuesday, September 21.
The Friars have won their first two meets this season. Most recently, Providence captured the Fordham Invitational on September 11. The Friars earned a perfect score (15 points) as they took the first five spots to finish ahead of 17 teams. Senior Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) led the way with a first-place finish in a time of 25:00. Classmate Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) was second in a time of 25:22, while junior Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) took the third spot in a time of 25:30. Senior Patrick Guidera of Clonmel, Ireland (fourth, 25:33) and junior Joe Dionne of Oshawa, Ontario (fifth, 26:03) also scored for the Friars.
The Friars will return to action on Saturday, September 25 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational. The race will begin at 12:20 PM EST.
