PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College's Peter Littell (Upper Montclair, N.J.) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse, for the week ending April 4, 2004. The announcement was released by the league office on Monday, April 5.

Littell earned a 15-1 victory between the pipes against Siena in his first collegiate start as a goaltender with the Friars. He faced 28 shots and held the Saints scoreless for over 59 minutes before Siena managed to score its only goal of the game with nine-seconds remaining. Littell also recorded a career-high 16 saves and three groundballs in the victory. Siena's one goal in marks the fewest goals scored against the Friars in a single game since the 1988 season when the Friars shutout Mass. Maritime, 18-0.

Providence has a current record of 3-4 overall and holds a 2-1 mark in the MAAC. The Friars started the season 0-3, but have rallied to win three of their last four games.
