The Friars were led by junior Jonathan Hollister (Longmeadow, Mass.) who netted five points on three goals and two assists. Junior Dan Giuntini (Floral Park, N.Y.) also added three goals, while sophomores Mark Seyer (Kirkwood, Mo.) and Michael Farley (Westfield, N.J.) each tallied two goals in the win. Freshman goaltender Peter Littell (Upper Montclair, N.J.) made his first collegiate start for the Friars between the pipes and recorded a career-high 16 saves and allowed just one goal. Siena's one goal in the game was the fewest goals scored against the Friars in a single game since 1988. The Saints only goal came with nine seconds left in the game as Matthew Walsh scored, unassisted, to make the final, 15-1.
The Friars and Saints were originally scheduled to play on Saturday, April 3 in Loudonville, N.Y., but the game was postponed because of poor field conditions and rescheduled for Sunday evening at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.).
Providence (3-4, 2-1 MAAC) will return action on Tuesday, April 6 against Holy Cross. The game is scheduled to be played at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. at 4:00 p.m.
