ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Missouri, 81-48, in the consolation game of the Airport University Inn Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday, November 27 in Albuquerque, N.M. Missouri's Kassie Drew poured in a game-high 20 points to lead three other Tigers in double figures. PC's Danielle Howard (Willingboro, N.J.) registered career highs of 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots to lead the Friar effort.

In the first half, Providence led 3-2 over the first 1:07 of action before Missouri exploded on a 19-0 run to take a 21-3 lead with 13:11 remaining in the half. Sophomore Shauna Snyder (Albuquerque, N.M.) halted the run with a three-point basket at the 12:49 mark to make the score 21-6, but the Tigers went on another run (13-2) to take a 34-8 lead with 7:07 on the clock. After a media time-out, PC came alive with a 10-0 run of its own to trail 34-18 with 4:02 remaining. Missouri finished the first half with a 10-5 scoring advantage, and the Tigers took a 44-23 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, Providence cut Missouri's lead to 17 (57-40) with 11:34 remaining in the game, but it proved to be the closest the Friars would get as the Tigers finished the game on a 24-8 scoring run to make the final, 81-48.

Howard scored 12 of her career-high 15 points in the second half. Snyder finished the night with 13 points and six rebounds. Freshman Kristen Brown (River Vale, N.J.) hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds and contributed seven points.

Joining Drew in double figures for Missouri were Christel N'Garsanet (15 points), Carlynn Savant (12 points) and EeTisha Riddle (10 points). Blair Hardiek registered a team-high eight rebounds and Savant dished out a game-high five assists.

Providence College (0-4) will return to Providence, R.I. where they will host Massachusetts in non-conference action on Wednesday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be played at PC's Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium and will be televised locally on COX Sports Television 3.
