TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The 11th-ranked Providence men's cross country team finished 21st (486 points) at the NCAA Championships on Monday, November 22 at the Wabash Valley Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. Colorado captured the team title (90 points) ahead of Wisconsin, who finished second with 94 points. Simon Bairu of Wisconsin won the men's individual title in a time of 30:37.
Junior Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) led all Friar runners with a 33rd-place finish with a time of 31:59. Senior Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) followed with a 68th-place finish in 32:32. Graduate Student Michael DeCoste (Duxbury, Mass.) finished 113th (33:03). Freshman Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) and senior Patrick Guidera (Clonmel, Ireland) rounded out the list of PC runners who registered points. Haji finished 125th (33:16) and Guidera took 147th (33:29). Senior Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) completed the race in 157th place with a time of 33:37.
This year marked the 10th-straight appearance for the Friars at the NCAA Cross Country Championship. Last season, the Providence finished 24th as a team.
