PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Sheiku Kabba scored 24 points, leading Providence to a 87-66 win over West Virginia on Saturday.
Ryan Gomes scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Providence. Donnie McGrath added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Friars (10-3, 2-1 Big East), who connected on a season-high 13 3-point field goals.
Kevin Pittsnogle led four Mountaineers in double figures with 15 points.
Providence, which never trailed, led 36-9 with 7:54 left in the first half after Kabba hit the second of five 3-pointers. The Friars hit 8 of 12 3-pointers in the first half on the way to a 49-28 halftime lead.
The Friars led by as much as 30 points in the second half, and West Virginia (8-6, 1-2) never closed the lead to within double digits.
Patrick Beylein had 12 points, all on 3-pointers, and D'or Fischer added 11 points and 13 rebounds for West Virginia.
