PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's cross country team is ranked 17th in the MONDO Division I Men's Cross Country National Poll, which was released on Tuesday, September 30. The Friars received 209 points and fell two spots to No. 17.
Stanford (478 points) received 14 of the 16 first-place votes to earn the top spot. Wisconsin (466 points), which captured the Roy Griak Invitational on September 27 is ranked second with two first-place votes. Northern Arizona (444 points), Arkansas (423 points), and Brigham Young (403 points) round out the top five.
The Friars finished seventh of 31 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational. Junior Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ont.) was PC's highest finisher as he placed 18th in a time of 24:40.
The Friars will return to competition on October 10 at the New England Championship.
