Women's Tennis Defeated by Fairfield, 4-3

The Providence College Friars lost the second match of the season, 4-3, to Fairfield University on Saturday, September 20 at Fairfield, Conn.
In singles action, Providence's No. 1, freshman Jen Daigle (East Greenbush, N.Y.) defeated Diana Webb, 7-6, 1-0. PC's No. 2, sophomore Sara Bitetti (Norwell, Mass.) defeated Taylor Barocts, 6-2, 6-4. PC's No. 3, junior Molly Gilbride (Topsham, Maine) won her second match of the season as she defeated Ashley Hill, 6-2, 6-2. Providence's No. 4, junior Nicole Rodger (Lowell, Mass.) and No. 5, junior Lindsey Christensen (Northboro, Mass.) were defeated by Andrea Suriaro, 6-1, 6-2 and Megan Stauffer, 6-2, 6-3, respectively.
The Friars return to action in two weeks when they travel to West Point, N.Y. to take part in the Army Invitational.
