PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's cross country team is ranked 15th in the first regular season MONDO Division I Men's Cross Country National Poll, which was released on Tuesday, September 23. The Friars (239 points), who were ranked 16th in the preseason poll, climbed one spot to No. 15.
Stanford (479 points) received 15 first place votes to earn the top spot. Wisconsin (463 points), Northern Arizona (437 points), Arkansas (425 points), and Oregon (414 points) round out the top five.
The Friars, who have won their first two meets of the season, are one of three BIG EAST teams that are in the top 15. Villanova (311) is tied for 10th and Georgetown is 13th.
Providence did not compete last week. Most recently, the Friars competed at the Boston College Select Meet, where they finished first of nine teams on September 12 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Juniors Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) and Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ont.) finished first and second, respectively.
The Friars will return to competition on Saturday, September 27 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
