Boston College Eagles (8-0-0/0-0-0) - The 20th-ranked Eagles open their BIG EAST Northeast Division schedule on Wednesday, September 24 against Providence College in Providence, R.I. Boston College has started the season undefeated with an 8-0-0 record and have outscored its opponents, 39-6, so far this season. On Sunday, September 21 Boston College defeated 21st-ranked Villanova, 1-0, in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles are led in scoring this season by senior Beth Totman with 23 points (10 goals, 3 assists) and sophomore Katie McGregor with 20 points (9 goals, 2 assists). Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Taylor has played the majority of minutes for the Eagles and has posted two shutouts and has a goals against average of 0.67.

Providence College Friars (5-2-1/0-0-0) - The Friars open their BIG EAST Northeast Division schedule on Wednesday, September 24 against Boston College in Providence, R.I. Providence College has started the season with a 5-2-1 record and have only allowed eight goals. The Friars' defense has been anchored by senior goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) who has posted five shutouts and has a goals against average of 0.97. Providence has been led offensively by a trio of juniors; BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.), Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) and Lauren Ritchie (Sayville, N.Y.). Bruni leads the team with seven points on three goals and one assist, while Robertson and Ritchie each have two goals and two assists for six points. During her tenure at Providence, Head Coach Tracy Kerr has yet to defeat the Eagles going 0-3-1 over the past four seasons. The Friars have shown improvement the last two seasons as they tied Boston College, 2-2, in 2001 and extended them to double overtime last season before falling, 1-0.
