STORRS, CONN. - The Providence College field hockey team concluded its season with a 4-0 loss against BIG EAST foe Connecticut on Saturday, November 1 in Storrs, Conn. The Friars finish the season with a 8-11 overall record and a 0-5 mark in the league.
Lauren Henderson (Avondale Harare, Zimbabwe) notched two goals and senior Mary Jo Malone (Water Mill, NY) also scored twice and added an assist for the Huskies. UConn concludes the regular season with a 15-4 overall mark (4-1 BIG EAST, and clinched the top seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Conference Tournament.
Senior Meaghan Moran (Framingham, Mass.) played 52:52 minutes in goal for Providence, allowed four goals and made 10 saves. Junior Meredith Jones (Lake Forest, Ill.) played the final 17:08 for the Friars in the cage and made four saves. Maureen Butler preserved the shut-out victory for UConn with seven saves.
