Men's Cross Country Ranked 17th in National Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's cross country team climbed to No. 17 in the MONDO Division I Men's Cross Country National Poll, which was released on Tuesday, October 14.

The Friars competed on Friday, October 10 at the New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. and captured the event for the fourth consecutive season and the 23rd overall in school history. Juniors Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ont.) and Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) led the way for Providence with second and third place finishes, respectively.

The Friars earned 207 points and moved up one spot to No. 17. Stanford (479 points) received 15 first-place votes to keep the No. 1 spot. Wisconsin (465 points), Northern Arizona (447 points), Brigham Young (423 points) and Colorado (413 points) round out the top five.

Providence will compete again on Friday, October 31 at the BIG EAST Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in New York, N.Y.
