PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Ryan Gomes scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Providence to a 67-58 win over Louisiana-Lafayette.

Tuukka Kotti scored 13 points and Maris Laksa had 12 for the Friars (9-5), who have won six straight at home.

Anthony Johnson paced the Ragin' Cajuns (10-6) with 14 points. Laurie Bridges and Michael Southall had 12.

After Louisiana-Lafayette closed to 50-49 on Bridges' 3-pointer with 8:23 left, Providence took charge by scoring 13 of the next 18 points. Gomes ignited the run with the first two baskets.

The Friars opened the second half with a 13-2 run, pulling to their first double-digit lead of the game, 46-36, on Sheiku Kabba's 3-pointer with 15:15 to play. Kotti scored five points and Gomes had four during the run.

The Ragin' Cajuns answered with a 13-4 run, closing to 50-49, before Providence's 13-5 run over the ensuing 4:19.

Louisiana-Lafayette never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Louisiana-Lafayette led 34-33 at the half. The Ragin' Cajuns took advantage of Providence's rough start from 3-point range, opening a seven-point lead midway into the first half.

Providence responded with a 9-0 run over a 3:03 stretch, and neither team led by more than three the rest of the half.
