PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Miami extended their NCAA-leading match win streak to 25 after defeating Providence College, 3-0 (30-12, 30-15, 30-21), in a BIG EAST volleyball match at Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. on Sunday, September 29.
Providence drops to 2-15 overall and 0-2 in BIG EAST play with the loss. Miami improves to 14-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Sophomore Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) tied for a match-high with 13 kills for the Friars and added three digs. Senior Sandy Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y.) led Providence with seven digs.
Karla Johnson notched 13 kills on 20 total attempts for a .650 hitting percentage to lead the Miami offense. Jamie Grass and Marcela Gamarra tied for a match-high with eight digs apiece for the Hurricanes.
The Friars return to action on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Quinnipiac.
