DURHAM, N.H. - The Providence College field hockey team was defeated, 1-0, in overtime versus New Hampshire in non-conference action on Saturday, September 28, in Durham, N.H. The loss drops the Friar's record to 5-6 overall.
The Wildcats earned their 1-0 victory as Lizzy Duffy connected on her first goal of the season, 4:23 into the first overtime session. Duffy's goal was assisted by Brittany Schneider.
Providence out-shot New Hampshire, 15-13, in the game. Junior Meaghan Moran (Framingham, Mass.) collected four saves in goal for the Friars. Wildcat goalkeeper Christine Buckley solidified the victory for UNH with 10 saves, including two critical stops in overtime.
Providence (5-6, 0-1 BIG EAST) will face Harvard in non-league action on Wednesday, October 2 in Cambridge, Mass. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
