Men's Tennis Defeats New Hampshire, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's tennis team defeated the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, 5-2, on Sunday April 7 in Providence, R.I.

The Friars began the afternoon by sweeping all three doubles matches, led by seniors Matt Jarvis (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Chris Overzat (New Rochelle, N.Y.) who won 8-5 at No. 1 singles. In singles, the Friars captured four of the six matches. Senior co-captain Craig Roslund (Huntington, N.Y.) defeated UNH's Drew Hendrickson (Newburyport, Mass.) at the No. 2 position. Freshman Nick Poulos (Scituate, Mass.) along with seniors Pat Moynihan (Queensbury, N.Y.) and Overzat posted straight set wins at the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions, respectively. Kevin O'Keefe (Milford, N.H.) and Mike Paul (Hampton, Ohio) registered UNH's wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.

PC improved to 6-7 overall and 3-7 in the spring season. The Friars return to action on Tuesday, April 9, as they host UConn at 3:00 p.m.
