PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior guard John Linehan (Chester, Pa.) was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' First Team All-District 1 squad on Tuesday, February 12. Linehan, who earned NABC Second Team All-District 1 accolades last year, became the first Friar to earn First Team honors since Jamel Thomas was named to the First Team in 1999.

Linehan, who leads the nation in steals (113) and is second in the nation in average steals per game (4.5 steals per game), is 18 steals shy of former Friar Eric Murdock's NCAA record for career steals (376).
