University of New Hampshire Wildcats (6-3-0) - The Wildcats come to Glay Field looking to extend their three game winning streak. In the past two weeks, New Hampshire has defeated Albany (3-0), Rhode Island (2-1), and Boston University (1-0, ot). Against Boston University, sophomore forward Chiara Best (Rose Valley, Pa.) broke a scoreless tie 8:48 into the first overtime session to lift New Hampshire to victory. Leading the Wildcats this season has been freshman forward Jackie Wishoski (Malden, Mass.). Wishoski has team highs in goals (three) and points (seven). On September 23, Wishoski was named the Rookie of the Week by America East. Two weeks later, America East awarded Rookie of the Week honors to another Wildcat, midfielder Ashlee Cieslak (Greendale, Wisc.). Cieslak currently has two goals, two assists, and six points in just six games played. Senior goalkeeper Kristen Ouellette (Weatogue, Conn.) has spent the majority of time in goal for the Wildcats. She has a record of 5-1-0 with 40 saves. Ouellette recorded one shutout this season and has a save percentage of .889. New Hampshire Head Coach Michael Jackson is in his eighth year with the Wildcat soccer program. New Hampshire leads the all-time series versus Providence, 10-5-2.
Providence College Friars (5-4-2) - The Friars look to continue their winning ways at Glay Field as they host the New Hampshire Wildcats. Providence has won the past three games at home. In their most recent game on October 4, the Friars defeated Syracuse, 2-0. Scoring the two Providence goals were sophomore midfielder Veronica Bakke (Alesund, Norway) and senior forward Kyle McAuley (Trumbull, Conn.). Recording her fourth shutout of the year was junior goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.). She made one save, increasing her season total to 45. The Friars currently have five multi-goal scorers. Sophomore midfielders Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) and BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.), along with McAuley, lead Providence with three goals each. Just behind the three leaders are Baake and sophomore midfielder Shannon McMorrow (Boca Raton, Fla.) with two goals each. The Friars currently have a two-game winning streak against New Hampshire. The two teams met last season in Durham, N.H. with Providence winning, 1-0. Head Coach Tracy Kerr, who is the only Friar coach to hold more than one victory against the Wildcats, looks to extend that number to three.
