BOSTON (AP) - Brianne Stepherson scored 18 points, and No. 25 Boston College used two big runs to beat Providence 69-49 Tuesday night for its 10th victory in 11 games.

Clare Droesch added 16 points and Kim Mackie had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (13-3, 4-1 Big East). Michal Epstein had 12 points for the Friars (8-9, 2-4), who lost their eighth straight game.

The game was close for the opening 6{ minutes before the Eagles went on a 13-4 run to open their first double-figures lead at 24-14. Boston College broke the game open with a 16-2 run midway through the second half, holding the Friars to one basket in 6{ minutes.

Droesch, who was 6-of-7 from the floor, capped the spree with a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 9:17 to play.

The Eagles, who led 31-19 at halftime, held the Friars to 26 percent shooting (7-of-27) in the first half. Providence shot just 33 percent (19-for-57) for the game, and had only five free throws to BC's 17.
