HANOVER, N.H. - The Providence women's ice hockey team was defeated 6-0 in Hanover, N.H. by a tough Dartmouth team. Dartmouth entered the contest in the the final weekend of play as the second-seeded team in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Providence entered the weekend as the eighth seed.
Dartmouth rattled off two goals in the first period, followed by two in the second and one in the third. Providence was held scoreless for the third time this season.
Friar goalkeeper Brigid Keady made a season-high 28 saves in 60 minutes of play. Dartmouth goalie Meaghan Cahill made 21 saves and registered the 6-0 shut-out victory.
Providence will travel to Boston College for the regular season finale, tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
