Providence Women's Hockey Defeated at Niagara, 3-0

The Providence College women's hockey team was defeated by Niagara University, 3-0, on Friday, November 9 in ECAC action at the Robert Concetta Dwyer Arena at Niagara University, N.Y.

Valerie Hall scored three power-play goals for the No. 10 Purple Eagles to propel them past No. 6 Providence. The Friars held a 29-15 shot advantage, but couldn't convert on their four power-play opportunities. Niagara's Tania Pinelli halted all 29 shots to post the shutout. Providence's Amy Quinlan (Baton Rouge, La.) made 12 saves in the loss.

With the loss the Friars fell to 3-3-1, 1-1-1 ECAC, while the Purple Eagles improved to 6-1-0, 3-0-0.

The Friars complete their two game series against the Purple Eagles on Saturday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m.
