Men's Basketball Holds Mal Brown Game

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's basketball team held the Mal Brown intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, October 20 at PC's Alumni Hall. The team played two 10-minute games. Sophomore Leland Anderson was the high scorer as he recorded a combined 12 points in the two games.

In the first game, the white squad defeated the black squad, 17-13. The white team was led by Anderson who had eight points and was 3-4 from the floor. The other scorers for the white team were sophomore Donell Allick (three points), junior Romuald Augustin (two points), junior Abdul Mills (two points) and sophomore Maris Laksa (two points). The black team was led by freshman Tuuka Kotti and sophomore Sheiku Kabba as each player scored four points. Sophomore Chris Anrin added a three pointer and freshman Ryan Gomes had one field goal to round out the scoring for the black team.

In the second game, the white team was victorious again. Freshman Donell Allick was the high scorer for the white squad as he registered six points. Senior John Linehan and Anrin each added five points, while Laksa and junior Garnett Thompson both registered four points apiece. Kabba paced the black team and was the game high scorer with seven points. Mills and Anderson each scored four points and Gomes recorded three points for the black team.

The Friars will return to action when the team opens its exhibition season on Saturday, November 3 against the One World All-Stars at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7:30 p.m.
