Syracuse University Orangemen (6-3-0, 0-1-0): The Syracuse University Orangemen travel to Providence College on September 24 for the fifth meeting all-time between the schools. Sunday's game marks Syracuse's second conference matchup of the 2000 season. In their last game, the Orangemen dropped their BIG EAST Northeast Divisional opener at Boston College, 2-0, on September 22. On offense, the Orangemen are led by senior forward Erin O'Grady (Glastonbury, Conn.). In nine games, O'Grady has tallied five goals and four assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Karlander (Carmel, N.C.) has seen a majority of the action in goal this season. Karlander has posted a 6-3-0 record on her way to recording 53 saves.
Providence College Friars (2-6-0, 0-2-0): The Providence College Friars return to home action on September 24 when they host Syracuse University. The Friars will look to earn their first BIG EAST Northeast Divisional win on the season. Providence last played on Friday, September 22 when they traveled to the University of Rhode Island. The Friars dropped a 2-0 decision to the in-state rival Rams. After opening the 2000 campaign with two straight victories, PC has dropped six consecutive decisions. Junior forward Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) leads the Friar attack with six points (two goals, two assists). Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) has been the mainstay in goal for the Friars this season. Haines has posted a 2-6-0 record while making 57 saves in her first year of collegiate action.
