Cambridge, Mass. -- The Providence College Volleyball team defeated Harvard with a 3-2 decison in the first round of the Harvard Invitational (15-12, 15-13, 10-15, 13-15, 16-14), on Friday, September 22.
Junior Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) led PC with her 23 kills and 23 digs, while fellow junior Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.) contributed 18 kills and 18 digs. Senior Heidi Filippi (wooster, Ohio) had 16 kills, and sophomore Susan Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y.) had 61 assists for PC.
Providence is now 9-5 overall and returns to action on Saturday, September 23, when they participate in the second round Harvard Invitational against Hartford (1:00 p.m.) and Holy Cross (3,00 p.m.).
