New Hampshire Wildcats (2-3-0, 0-0-0): The University of New Hampshire embarks on a seven-game road trip that begins with Friday's game at Providence College. The Wildcats arrive in Providence with a 2-3-0 overall record. After winning its season opener versus Texas-El Paso, 1-0, UNH has dropped three of its last four decisions. The Wildcats last victory came when they defeated Holy Cross, 1-0, on September 6. Junior forward/midfielder Angeline Alexakos (Bedford, N.H.) leads the Wildcat attack as she ranks first on the team in scoring with five points (two goals, one assist). Senior co-captain Marky Solomon, a native of Foster, R.I., is second on the team in scoring with one goal and two assists. In goal, UNH features a steady tandem of senior Stephanie Springer (Solana Beach, Calif.) and sophomore Kristen Ouellette (Weatogue, Conn.). Springer leads the team with a 1.33 goals against average and .800 save percentage.
Providence College Friars (2-4-0, 0-2-0): The Providence College Friars return home to take on the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. Friday's game marks the 15th meeting in the all-time series between both schools with UNH holding a 10-3-2 advantage. After opening the 2000 campaign with two straight victories, PC has dropped four consecutive decisions. Providence was defeated in its last outing, 1-0, in BIG EAST action at Miami on September 10. Junior forward Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) leads the Friar attack with four points (one goal, two assists). Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) has proven to be a valuable addition to this year's squad. Haines has posted a 2-4-0 record while making 44 saves in her first year of collegiate action. She recorded two consecutive shutouts at the University of Maine Black Bear Invitational versus Marist and Iona on August 26-27. For her efforts, Haines earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors on August 28.
