PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Pittsburgh shot 63.6 percent in the second half Sunday afternoon and rallied for a 57-53 victory over Providence in the teams' Big East Conference regular-season finale.

The Panthers (5-11, 13-14) clinched the No. 11 seed for the Big East Tournament, which begins Wednesday at Madison Square Garden and will play No. 6 Villanova. The Friars (4-12, 11-18) finish as the No. 12 seed and will face No. 5 Seton Hall.

Providence used a 12-3 run to build a 38-29 lead midway through the second half. Then the Friars went cold and hit just five of their last 18 shots while the Panthers caught fire.

Brandin Knight ignited Pittsburgh's comeback with a fast-break layup. He also scored off his own steal and connected on a pair of 3-point shots as Pittsburgh eventually went ahead 44-42 - its first lead of the game since 2-0.

Providence managed just five baskets in the last 9:28 of play, the final one being a 3-point shot by Donta Wade which gave the Friars a 53-52 lead.

Knight then fed Chris Seabrooks for a layup and a 54-53 advantage. After Providence's Erron Maxey missed a jumper, Donatas Zavackas clinched the victory by burying a 3-point shot for a 57-53 margin with 30 seconds left on the clock.

Ricardo Greer notched a double-double for Pittsburgh, posting game highs in points (18) and rebounds (14). Abdul Mills led the Friars with 17 points.
