PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Providence College women's basketball team won its' fifth-straight non-conference game with a 69-42 victory over Princeton University on Sunday, December 31st at Jadwin Gym in Princeton, N.J.

The Friars (6-4 overall/0-1 BIG EAST) were led by freshman point guard Kristin Quinn (Sewell, N.J.). Quinn, the reigning BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, scored a career-high 15 points in the win on five-of-10 shooting from the floor and four-of-nine shooting from behind the three-point arc.

PC led, 26-15, at the halftime break. The Friars went on an early 6-0 run on three consecutive buckets by center Monika Roberts (Pittsburg, Calif.). The Friars had little trouble the rest of the way with the Tigers (0-10), cruising to the 27-point victory.

PC sophomore Steffanie Shoop (Sommerville, N.J.) added a career-best 14 points for the Friars in the win. New Jersians Quinn and Shoop were two of the three Providence players who scored in double figures. Freshman center Jenese Wilcox (Port Chester, N.Y.) was the other Friar to reach double figures as she registered her team-leading fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Friars continue their current road trip with a conference game at the University of Pittsburgh on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2001.
