PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by Boston College, 3-1, in BIG EAST volleyball action on Saturday evening in Providence, R.I.
The Eagles (13-17 overall/4-7 BE) spoiled PC's season finale and the final match of three Providence senior's careers, as they won by scores of, 15-12, 9-15, 19-17 and 15-12. Junior outside hitter Brooke Shull led the Eagles with 21 kills in the victory.
The Friars (16-15 overall/2-9 BE) were paced by junior outside hitters Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) and Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.), who both totaled 22 kills. Senior right-side hitter Heidi Filippi (Wooster, Ohio) added 20 kills in the loss.
