STORRS, CONN. -- The Providence College Volleyball team defeated Manhattan College, 3-2 (15-5, 11-15, 16-14, 10-15, 15-8) in on Saturday, October 7, at Riverdale, N.Y.
Providence junior Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) led the Friars with 23 kills, two service aces and 25 digs. Junior Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.) contributed 14 kills and 25 digs for PC. Sophomore Susan Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y.) added 50 assists.
Providence improved to 14-7 overall, while Manhattan dropped to 15-6 overall.
The Friars returns to action on Sunday, October 8, when they travel to New York, N.Y., to take on St. John's. The match is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
