PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Dartmouth College defeated Providence College, 2-1, in men's soccer action at Providence, R.I., on Tuesday, October 31.
The Friars opened the scoring at 2:42 of the first half when Kevin Jones sent a pass across the goalmouth that Tom Blesso headed in off the crossbar. Three minutes later, the Big Green tied the game on shot by Matt LaBarre. LaBarre collected a rebound and booted home Dartmouth's first goal at 5:52. Brad Christof netted the game-winning goal for Dartmouth with a low blast from the top of the box that eluded Friar goalkeeper Danny Glynn at the 36:40 mark.
Dartmouth goalkeeper Ben Gebre-Medhin made three saves in the win. Glynn recorded four stops for the Friars.
With the victory, Dartmouth improved to 11-4-0. Providence finished the season with a 4-13-1 mark.
