Box Score

BOSTON (AP) - Cal Bouchard scored 20 points, Alissa Murphy 13 and Jamie Cournoyer 12 as 25th-ranked Boston College extended its winning streak to 11 games by beating Providence 72-52 Saturday.

After a sluggish start, the Eagles (15-3, 4-0 Big East) used a 16-5 run midway into the first half to open a 32-22 advantage. They never saw their lead fall below 10 points the rest of the game.

Jen Gombotz paced Providence (8-6, 3-2) with 20 points despite missing a good portion of the second half with an injured ankle. It was the Friars' third loss in their last 10 games.

The Eagles, who haven't lost since a 79-68 setback at Arkansas on Nov. 30, led 46-28 at intermission. They opened a 20-point lead on the initial basket of the second half, a layup by Becky Gottstein, and held at least a 19-point edge for the remainder of the contest.

BC shot just 30 percent in the second half, but the Friars couldn't generate any consistent offense.

The Friars, who were held scoreless for the opening 5:47 of the second half, shot only 35 percent in the game and committed 25 turnovers.
