MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Providence College men's cross country team scored 106 points and defeated 20 schools to win its first Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday, September 26. Providence senior Ben Noad of Bristol, England finished first and won the individual title in a time of 24:25.
Also scoring for the Friars were junior Keith Kelly of Drogheda, Ireland (fourth - 24:50), senior Rick Bush of Clifton Park, N.Y. (25th - 25:24), freshman Dermot Galvin of Kilrush, Ireland (33rd - 25:39) and senior Zach Ventress of Spokane, Wash. (43rd - 25:47).
The Friars return to action on Oct. 16 at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
