Holy Cross Defeats PC Field Hockey, 2-1 In Overtime

WORCESTER, MA - The Providence College Friar field hockey team fell to Holy Cross, 2-1 in overtime in Worcester, MA.

Junior Erica Hebert (Enfield, CT) scored the first goal of the game at the 20:16 mark of the second half. Holy Cross rebounded and scored six minutes later off a shot by Jes Gulino. In the second overtime, Holy Cross' Ali Roberts tallied an unassisted goal with :47 remaining to give the Friars their fourth win of the season.

The Crusaders won the overall shot battle with 23 shots to Providence's 16.

In her first start of the season, junior goalkeeper Andrea Weyl (Ridgefield, CT) recorded 21 saves between the posts.

Providence falls to 2-6 overall and will face the University of New Hampshire next Saturday in Durham, NH.
