Bill Davidson became the fifth all-time head coach of the Providence College field hockey team on August 14, 1998.
A member of the Men's United States Coaching staff for the past nine years, Davidson has also assisted with the Men's National and Junior National Teams. He has coached at US Olympic festivals, US Hockey Festivals and Super Camps. Davidson has also been certified as a National Level I Coaching Certification Examiner and a Level II Coach.
Davidson was the head coach at the University of California-Santa Barbara for three years and was the head coach at California Polytechnic State University in 1996. He instructs camps in Santa Barbara (CA) as well as in New England.
A 1988 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Davidson began playing on the National under-21 team in 1978 and then competed on the National team for a total of 10 years while participating in the Pan American Games as well as Olympic Festivals. Throughout his tenure, he travelled to more than 25 countries and several continents.
Davidson received his K-12 teaching certificate at California Polytechnic State in 1997 and most recently taught at Manchester Elementary Middle School in Manchester, Vermont. He was a ski instructor in Vermont and works independently as a personal trainer.
