Two Field Hockey Players Earn Regional All-America Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced on November 15 that Providence College field hockey players senior Erica Hebert (Enfield, Conn.) and junior Breanne Wojnarowicz (Holden, Mass.) earned Northeast Region Second Team All-America accolades.

Wojnarowicz, one of the Friars' top defensive players, started all 19 games and recorded three defensive saves and 10 points (four goals, two assists) in 1999. Also this season, she earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors. Breanne, a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, is the daughter of John and Kathleen Wojnarowicz.

Hebert, who led the team in scoring (31 points) and goals (13) this season, earned her first Regional All-America accolade. The high-scoring senior also received her third consecutive All-BIG EAST honor this season. Hebert finished her career at Providence ranked sixth all-time in scoring (106 points) and fourth all-time in goals (46). Erica, a graduate of Enfield High School, is the daughter of Gail and Paul Hebert.

Providence finished the season with a 7-12 mark and a 1-4 record in BIG EAST play.
