BIG EAST Conference Announces Academic All-Star Team

Providence College has 137 student-athletes qualify for BIG EAST Academic All-Star honors.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College placed 137 student-athletes on the 2000-01 BIG EAST Conference Academic All-Star Team, the conference announced today with the release of all 14 school's academic all-stars.

The women's swimming and diving team led all Providence teams with 21 members from the swim team earning academic all-star honors. The women's cross country/track and field team was second among PC teams with 16 members earning academic all-star honors. The field hockey team had the third-highest members earn academic honors with 15 members claiming the accolade. The men's cross country/track and field team was fourth with 14 members honored.
