Men's Basketball Season-Ticket Sales Surpass 6,300

Dec. 1, 2003

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Season-ticket sales for men's basketball in 2003-04 are the second-highest in Tim Welsh's six years as head coach, according to Danny McCabe, associate athletic director for external relations.

A total of 6,321 season tickets had been sold as of Friday, November 21, a day before the team's season opener. That is 330 more than the 2002-03 total. Noting additional support from the campus community, McCabe said 791 students and 494 faculty and staff members purchased season tickets this year for increases of 380 and 55, respectively, over a year ago.

He cited several reasons for the overall increase, including the team's strong finish last year, high expectations this season, and an attractive home schedule that features games with Texas, Syracuse, and Alabama.
